Living Home Free or Without a Home

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday, September 30th, I gave up my apartment in Melbourne, FL and have not yet reestablished myself at a new permanent location. I'm currently staying with very dear friends, Shanti and Tony, who have been very supportive through this transition. As many of you may know, I have been going through a personal transformation over the past 5-6 months that has enriched my spiritual life to heights I have been working toward for many years, and reduced my material burden on the world to nearly ascetic lows. Everything I materially own can be found in my car. It's filled to the rafters, so to speak, and I need to reduce the burden a little more. Ideally I want to create a kind of modern day gypsy caravan. I want to be able to use it as a personal sacred, yet mobile space. A place I can retreat to for meditation and peace. And a way I can easily move from place to place. Through my transformation, my awareness and spiritual strength have grown 10 fold or more. I've acquired skills of healing (herbalism and reiki) that I can use anywhere and spiritual practices that transcend religion. My entire worldview has been altered (left of liberal) and my compassion for others has increased well beyond my own circle of friends and family. I know my purpose in life is to help others in any way I am able. My daily prayer and meditation always includes the Universal Love Prayer. Perhaps you may want to include it in your own life or share it with others too.

Peace and Blessings

UNIVERSAL LOVE PRAYER
From the Metta Sutra

“May all beings be filled with joy and peace.
May all beings everywhere,
The strong and the weak,
The great and the small,
The mean and the powerful,
The short and the long,
the subtle and the gross:

May all beings everywhere,
Seen and unseen,
Dwelling far off or nearby,
Being or waiting to become:
May all be filled with lasting joy.

Let no one deceive another,
Let no one anywhere despise another,
Let no one out of anger or resentment
Wish suffering on anyone at all.

Just as a mother with her own life
Protects her child, her only child, from harm,
So within yourself let grow
A boundless love for all creatures.

Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.

Then as you stand or walk,
Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth.”
